POSITION SUMMARY
Works under the directsupervision of the registered and licensed practical nurse physician and the site manager. The position is accountable to the Lead Registered Nurse, Site Manager, the Nurse Manager, the Administrative Director, and the Vice President of Planning and Professional Service Division, the patients and families. Performs the primary functions of the Medical Assistant in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating, the care of all patients that is assigned to his/her care. Utilizes initiative and strives to maintain a steady level of productivity. Care given to his/her patients reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectation. This position requires that employee meet competencies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Required to complete an accredited Medical Assistant or related training course. Required to complete
competencies within thirty (30) days of employment.
2. Preferred proficiency in computer /medical office software programs.
3. At least six month experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
4. Ability to relate cooperatively and constructive with patients, families/significant others, co-workers, physicians,
and management team. Must work using the team approach.
6. Ability to move patients to ambulate, transfer patients to a wheelchair, and to transfer patients to a exam table
using appropriate mechanics in lifting, Must be able to stand 70% of worked hours.
7. Knowledge of universal precautions, OSHA standards and safety precautions. Ability to assess patients'
condition, formulates a plan of carean evaluate patients' response to care and treatment.
8. Demonstrate competence to provide care for the following patient population: infants, pediatrics, adolescents,
adults and geriatrics.
