The Sales Consultant opportunity is a full time position that offers the flexibility to arrange your weekly appointments and work in a large, assigned territory where you have the convenience of still returning home each night! The Sales Consultant will professionally represent Morton Buildings, Inc. in their assigned territory while presenting the full product line to prospective clients. He/She will manage projects through to completion and serve as a bridge between our customers and corporate; serving the needs of the customer as well as respecting and meeting the needs of the entire Morton Buildings team.
Responsible for local advertising and marketing in your territory to inform potential customers of Morton Buildings'' products. The company will compliment these efforts with national advertising and marketing from our corporate headquarters.
Participates in an extensive training program in which the individual will be exposed to the methods / techniques of sales and construction management .
Develop and cultivate new business leads through prospecting, referrals, marketing, networking and cold calling.
Personally follow up with customer leads within assigned sales territory while maintaining awareness of competitor activity.
Work with a strong sense of safety in mind at all times while performing all tasks.
Assist in developing and training new Sales Consultants.
Service past Morton owner's warranty and charge repairs.
Arrange and conduct meetings to evaluate site, building layout, needs, wants and future expansion that will most effectively suit the customer's project.
Work with prospects to identify their specific building needs.
Communicate Morton Buildings' features, benefits, and uniqueness to prospects.
Create offers to purchase and carry out contractual paperwork in compliance with corporate procedures.
Ensure all individuals involved are in agreement with the specifics of the purchase.
Effectively communicate to customer company products, services, project development, warranties and company policies.
Communicate to Design Services all necessary information regarding applicable building codes, design exemptions, property restrictions, etc. in a timely manner.
Communicate applicable construction information to crew members and coordinate project with subcontractors.
Qualify and develop subcontracting team.
Coordinate and schedule activities of all individuals involved in the building project including MBI personnel, subcontractors, permitting authorities and inspectors where applicable.
Visually inspect and monitor progress at each build site from start to finish as required to ensure a successful project.
Oversee and maintain open communication with the customer during the complete building process and warranty period.
Collect customer payments according to contract payment schedule.
In support of company initiatives and growth, attend all company sponsored training, meetings and seminars, as well as various farm and trade shows.
Ability to secure and maintain a valid driver's license.
Travel overnight to trade shows, training seminars, customer sites, etc. as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Note Advancement and expansion opportunities exist for Sales Consultants including positions as Construction Center Manager, Regional Sales Manager, or corporate level management. Proven history of success in SELLING or customer service
Previous cold-calling and prospecting experience highly desired
Likable personality with a sales-minded outlook
Natural people-person who can make new connections daily and maintain a strong potential client network
Ability to exhibit conflict resolution and think on your feet capabilities
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good organizational, multi tasking and problem solving skills
Ability to maintain customer confidentiality
Self motivation, high energy work ethic and integrity is a must
Team player and work well with others
Must have intermediate or better computer skills
Minimal overnight travel required
Regular attendance required
Preferred degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or related focus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
