POSITION SUMMARY
Works under the direct supervision of the Administrative Director of Rehabilitation Services. Seeks and accepts direction from the clinical leaders of the Cardiac and Pulmonary rehabilitation programs and Exercise Physiologist designated by the Administrative Director (referred to hereafter as Exercise Physiologist designee).
The Exercise Physiologist is professional trained in exercise and evaluates client's health history, risk factors and fitness consulting with the Exercise Physiologist designee and/or referring physician as required. Performs exercise prescriptions and assesses client compliance and goal achievement on an on-going basis. Performs personal fitness counseling, assists with intern programs and quality improvement. Is responsible for routine maintenance of exercise equipment and for orienting staff and clients to exercise equipment. Demonstrates proficiency in Unit competencies. Accepts responsibility for appropriate management of Hospital and Vitality Center resources.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's Degree in Adult Fitness, Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology. Master's Degree preferred.
2. Water Fitness certification preferred.
3. BCLS (CPR) certification required.
